Note: Pre-ground coffee beans will get stale quicker, which may cause it to lose its aromatic subtleties. Although we'd be happy to grind the coffee beans to your liking, we highly recommend our customers to grind their coffee beans just before consumption.
Gihere Central Washing station, established in 1984, sources coffee from more than 1600 small-scale farmers in the Ngozi region of Burundi, where the average farmer owns only about 250 trees. The coffee is hand-picked when ripe and undergoes optimal processing in soaking and floating tanks, as well as drying on over 200 tables. This station can process close to 20,000 bags of coffee in total. Since its establishment, this washing station has provided small-scale farmers with access to capital investments, education, and infrastructure, enabling them to produce exceptional coffees and improve their livelihoods. Once dried, the coffee is transported to the capital city of Gitega for dry milling and export.
