About the bean

Patio Bonito is a family-run farm in Caldono, Cauca, led by veteran producer Carlos Arturo Trujillo and his daughter, Paola. With nearly five decades of experience, Carlos has built a farm grounded in resilience and quality. Paola, a trained cupper and former buyer, returned to the family operation in 2022, bringing fresh perspective and technical precision to their post-harvest practices.

Since then, she’s refined the farm’s fermentation methods, introducing thermal shock and anaerobic techniques that have elevated both washed and natural profiles. Across 11 hectares, the Trujillos cultivate 13 distinct varieties — from Castillo and Pink Bourbon to Gesha and Wush Wush — all managed with a deep commitment to food security, soil health, and environmental stewardship.

This lot is a clear expression of that dedication to craft and innovation. With a vibrant cup profile marked by cranberry jam sweetness, pomegranate acidity, and the crisp clarity of red Fuji apple, it reflects both tradition and transformation. Patio Bonito is more than a farm — it’s a generational project rooted in care, knowledge, and a vision for sustainable excellence.
